Édouard Glissant y las poéticas de la Relación
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article traces the trajectory of Édouard Glissant’s life and work, the Martinican poet and
thinker — who also served as directeur du Courrier de l’Unesco from 1981 to 1988—
summarizing the historical and cultural dimensions that underlie it. It also examines the
concepts and percepts through which Glissant analyses and reconsiders the Antillean context,
developing a new conception of world literature. As an integral part of decolonization, Antillean
discourse deepens the idea of poetic intention and opposes universalizing systems through a
thought of wandering in which the desire for memory and oral traces converge. Reading
Glissant opens a dialogue with other Caribbean writers around the opacity of creolization
processes and multilingualism in neocolonial situations.
