Accessibility, Language, and Sexual Abuse Prevention in Deaf Children: An Early Intervention Approach
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article presents a critical documentary review on the prevention of sexual abuse in deaf children, from a visual, intersectional, and human rights-based perspective. It analyzes structural risk factors such as language deprivation, lack of accessible sexual education, and the absence of culturally relevant institutional protocols. Based on this review, a preliminary early intervention route is proposed, structured around five key axes: access to sign language, affective literacy, consent education from early childhood, development of visual materials, and family support. The article concludes that effective prevention requires a transformation of public policies, grounded in accessibility, linguistic justice, and the epistemic recognition of the Deaf community as an active subject of knowledge and rights.
