Abstract

The article highlights that one of the challenges faced by the head-teacher is the management and responsibility for the comprehensive training of his or her students, which becomes problematic when the teacher lacks of previous preparation in the area. It is an action-research study framed within the critical approach to education. The sample of the study is composed by 83 pre-service high school teachers that attended to an Educational Guidance (OE) course during the first semester of 2019 and 2020.


Through a didactic experience in this subject and through action research, it was possible to concretize a curricular device model for the course counseling hour, in the context of teacher training.


The results were grouped and categorized in specific areas of the OE: Personal, School, Vocational and Professional. It was also observed that the pre-service teachers increased their awareness of the role to be soon assumed as head-teachers.
