Abstract

In this article, a reflection on mental health in education is presented, focusing on the Chilean context. Specific issues in Chilean society, such as depression, a loss of meaning in life, and fear of the future, are mentioned as having emerged in recent years. These problems are considered manifestations of the complexity of today's society and its impact on individuals' psychological well-being. The article concludes by proposing a reflection on how to address the increasing number of mental illnesses from the perspective of María Montessori. The importance of using pedagogical tools in the educational environment to address these pathologies and disorders is emphasized. It is argued that education can play a crucial role in the learning process and in transforming society by incorporating didactic proposals that address mental illnesses. Ultimately, the transformative role of education in promoting mental well-being in society is emphasized.
