MANUSCRIPTS PRESENTATION FORMAT

1. REVIEWS AND INTERVIEWS

Format: Both reviews and interviews must be presented in Times New Roman size 12 format, with 1.5-line spaced, normal margins (left and right: 3 centimeters; top and bottom: 2.5), and spaced from one another by 0 points.

Extension: Interviews must not exceed 10 pages in letter format, while reviews must be no more than 5 pages. 

 

2. ARTICLES

Initial section format: The study’s initial section must be presented in Times New Roman size 12, with 1.5-line spaced, normal margins (left and right: 3 centimeters; top and bottom: 2.5), and spaced from one another by 0 points.

Spanish and English studies must include a short title and their translation to English, a summary in Spanish and abstract in English in no more than 10 lines, a list of 5 descriptors in the same languages as maximum. Portuguese studies must include the title, the summary and their descriptors in the respective language. 

Body of the studies and references format: The main body of the studies and their references must be in Times New Roman sized 12, with 1.5-line spaced, normal margins (left and right: 3 centimeters; top and bottom: 2.5), and spaced from one another by 0 points.

Footnote format: the studies’ footnotes must be presented in Times New Roman size 10, single-spaced, and superscripted numbered. They may be bibliographical notes which refer to other publications other readers may consult, or explanatory (content) notes which refer to additional information that may be too digressive for the main text. 

Extension: studies must not be more than 25 pages, letter size.

 

3. CITATION

Al papers presented to the Nueva Revista del Pacífico must adopt the format indicated by the American Psychological Association (APA) in its 7th edition, for citing, footnotes and elaborating the list of references.

 

3.1. IN-TEXT CITATIONS

3.1.1. In-Text citations must be specified using parenthesis indicating the   author(s)’s last name, the year of publication and the page number: (Goic, 1987, p. 23). However, if the author and the year of publication of the source is mentioned in the main text, just indicate the page number in parenthesis. 

3.1.2. When citing more than one study of the same author, the references must be differentiated by the use of letters next to the year: (Goic, 1987a, p. 32).

3.1.3. When citing a study with two authors: (Calderon y Fierro, 1994, p. 25).

3.1.4. When citing a study with more than three authors: (Sarlo et al., 2000, p. 54).

3.1.5. When citing a text indirectly: (quoted in Cánovas, 1998, p. 202).

3.1.6. Short quotations, four lines or less, must be indicated by using quotation marks in the text.

3.1.7. Long quotations, more than four lines, place quotations in a free-standing paragraph, 2.5 centimeters form the left margin of the text, and omit quotation marks, and spaced from one another by 0 points.

 

3.2. WORKS CITED

The bibliography must include only the references effectively cited and has to be alphabetically organized by the authors’ las names. Main examples are specified below:

3.2.1. Books with one author:  Bolaño, Roberto. (1998). Los detectives salvajes. Anagrama.
