Resumen

If space characterizes nomadism, it implies the absence of spatial and temporal limits. The appearence of sedentary culture rests essentially on the splitting up of space and the formation of territories, legitimated by a formal link between space and time. Thus one passes from Prehistory to History, where the border is the emblematic feature, but also the privileged setting of infamous territorialized events. For Jean-Luc Nancy «The border figure is the instrument and the location of a dialectic of sharing and passage». It is the starting point of the idea of «Territoires de l'Entre-Deux» («Intermediate Zones»), a modern metaphor of frontiers zones, whose compartaive and symbolic examples are Brussels and Montevideo. Lastly, this study proposes to continue the reflexion, drawing on other examples and the proposed projects and exchange programs, from a collective and multicultural point of view.
